Friday 11 September 10am - 2.30pm and 5pm - 7pm
Saturday 12 September 10.30am - 3.30pm
King Edward Street Chapel is a delightful Grade II listed Nonconformist chapel
built in 1690, still retaining original features and excellent restoration work of the early 20th century.
Members of the Chapel will be delighted to show you around this wonderful building and explain some of its wonderful
history.
There will be worksheets, quizzes, dressing up and crafts for children of all ages.
Everyone is welcome and all events are free.
Our Heritage Open Days will culminate with the performance of "To Light
a Small Candle" - The Old Chapel's Story on Saturday 13 September at 7.30pm
Come and join us for a magical candlelit performance of the chapel's story from
1690 to the present day, performed by members of the congregation.

It is the 1920s and the Kings Messenger the Reverend Thomas Paxton is conducting
one of his popular tours of the Continent. This scene takes place is Switzerland where a member of the Reverend's party,
Agatha Salt, is introduced to a German Gentleman.
"Mr Paxton took Beatie and me by the lake and we met this gentleman. Mr Paxton started to talk to him in German
and then he introduced us to him. And do you know what he did girls? He bowed and clicked his heels and he kissed
my hand."
